Inner Listening

“When I have been listened to and when I have been heard, I am able to re-perceive my world in a new way and to go on.” Carl Rogers

Inner Listening or Focusing is a practice where we tune into what’s going on for us in the moment, acknowledging thoughts and stories that are at play whilst also listening at a more subtle level to how our body feels, what is going on at a deeper level of our being. We journey and explore what is present and this allows us to access a deep inner knowing that our bodies hold, what we might call our intuition or gut instinct.

When we listen in a empathetic, open and non-judgement way to our own experience we can access this inner guidance that can help us make sense of confusing feelings, past experiences and help us meet decisions or issues in our life that we experience as difficult or stuck.

What happens in a Inner Listening / Focusing session…?

I am currently training as a Focusing Practitioner in order to be able to share this practice with people in one-to-one sessions.

A Focusing or Inner Listening session is not the same as therapy, counselling or hypnotherapy. As a Focusing Practitioner I hold the space for you to meet your own experience without offering any advice, judgments or analysis. I will be supporting you to listen to and meet your experience in an empathetic open way, supporting you to meet all parts of yourself. To welcome in the whole of you, even the parts you might find difficult, painfully critical, embarrassing , ugly or shameful. From meeting and accepting ourselves more fully we can experience a greater sense of integration, wholeness and peace, and find solutions or ways forward that feel right for the whole of our being.

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift, and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift.” Albert Einstein

Once you have learnt this approach you can then practice it in a peer relationship with someone who also knows this practice, or on your own, or you could choose to continue to work with me or another Focusing Practitioner.

Time and Costs

Sessions are 1 hour.

As I am currently training as a Focusing Practitioner I am offering sessions for free. This is for a limited period until my training is complete.

Ideally we would do three sessions together but you are welcome to have one session and see if you wish to continue with no obligation.
